October is Waiheke Island Wine Month, with vineyards, restaurants and local businesses across the island hosting special tastings, winemaker dinners, vineyard experiences, live music and long lunches.
Running throughout October, the programme gives wine lovers plenty of reasons to plan a spring trip to Waiheke Island, whether you're looking for a behind-the-scenes winery experience, a special dinner, or an entire weekend built around food and wine.
Batch Winery is running its Winery & Vineyard Experience every day throughout October.
The experience takes visitors behind the scenes at the working winery to learn about the journey from vine to bottle, finishing with a guided tasting of selected Batch wines. Tours run daily at 11am and 2pm and cost $35 per person.
Man O' War is also offering a special food and wine pairing throughout October at Man O' War Bay.
Full details are still to be announced, so check the official Wine Month programme for updates.

Wine Month isn't limited to tastings and dinners.
Casita Miro's Jazz Series features Geléia, a Waiheke-born group whose music combines Bossa Nova, Samba, Gypsy Jazz and hot-club swing.

Man O' War has another special Wine Month event scheduled for 10 October at Man O' War Bay.
Details have not yet been released, so keep an eye on the official programme if you're visiting Waiheke that weekend.
Casita Miro's October music programme continues on with Hopetoun Brown featured in the closing event of the series.
The duo of Nick Atkinson and Tim Stewart are known for their horn-driven sound and have performed at festivals including Splore and WOMAD.
Check Casita Miro for current booking information.
Wine Month finishes with a distinctly Waiheke idea at Stonyridge Vineyard.
Running on 30 October, 31 October and 1 November, the event invites guests to bring a favourite Waiheke wine to enjoy with Stonyridge's family-style sharing menu.
Guests can bring one bottle of Waiheke wine per person, with Stonyridge wines also available to purchase. It's a fitting way to close a month designed to celebrate the island's wider wine community.
The official programme continues to be updated, so make sure to check the Waiheke Wine Growers website.

With events spread across the island, Wine Month is well suited to an overnight or multi-night stay.
Delamore Lodge, located near Oneroa and overlooking the Hauraki Gulf, provides a luxury base for exploring Waiheke.
Guests staying at the lodge receive transfers to and from Matiatia Ferry Terminal on arrival and departure, and resident guests can also dine at the lodge.
That means your Waiheke food and wine experience doesn't need to end when you leave the vineyard.
