At the northwestern tip of the island, we stopped at a massive set of wooden gates which opened to reveal a beautiful manicured property. Once the gates closed behind us Auckland could have been a million miles away. The ocean shimmered in the distance adding to the surreal feeling of being a world away. Save on departure tax, airfares, fuel surcharges, airport parking and head "overseas" to Delamore Lodge, it really is that good!!

It's beautiful and intimate with one of the most stunning sea views. The spa treatments are terrific with special mention of the Lithos treatment - hot / cold stones which is just wonderful. Luxury Lodges normally do pretty good breakfasts but this one is terrific, laid out in the dining room is a wonderful selection of fresh pancakes and poached fruit, egg tarts, fresh pastries and fruit.

Delamore Lodge on Waiheke Island - walk to the front and the epitome of luxe is slowly revealed. Through the main areas, sculptures, fountains and bas reliefs all lend an air of elegant eccentricity.
